Attack Dice SRD 2nd Edition
A downloadable SRD
Some time ago now, probably about a year, I wrote a game SRD in an airport. I did so to combine an idea I'd been having for a while with an idea that I had recently had. It was serviceable enough for what I wanted to flesh out my original idea, but I had always meant to modify it. Well now I have, and changed the core mechanic, and the way the original flagship mechanic works. Why did I do this? Because I could, because I like these specific mechanical tweaks and wanted them written down for reference for a new game I want to write. And now you can use them too!
An Excerpt from the book to make something about it clear.
What this Document is
This SRD (System Reference Document) is a breakdown of several
mechanical systems that people may use to build their own games. It is here
to provide systems of play to allow for people to design games around their
own settings or ideas by providing a core dice system and some additional
add on systems for their own use.
What this Document is not
This is not a “Setting Agnostic Game”. While in theory you could just grab
everything in this SRD as is out of the box and slap a setting onto it, it would
work as a game per se, but it wouldn’t be well balanced or very fleshed out.
What is here is DNA and a few bones. Not flesh, and function or any kind of
balance. Take these tools, and use them to build your own parts for the
game you want to make
