Here's a Dagger, There's a Monster, Figure it Out
A downloadable game
Do you think making new characters takes too long? Do you wish making a character was a simple as grabbing some gear and going on an adventure? Do you have less than an hour to prep a dungeon crawl because the GM is sick? Do you play in Sun Gone's Rage of Fire and Ice campaign and hate how much D&D 5e's shitty game structure limits the fun of a concept like that?
This game was written for you then. Here's a Dagger, There's a Monster, Figure it Out is an 11 page game (minus the title/table of contents) written by me because I got so annoyed at 5e I forgot that fucking Knave existed. Just remembered as I was writing this. Still, this game is simpler than Knave, and does some different stuff. So there, I justified it. If you long for the idea of grabbing som equipment and running off to adventure, this game is worth a try.
In these 11 pages you'll find character creation, rules for how it works (hey, not all games come with those) a Master of Ceremonies section on how to do things with this game, and no long multipage rambles citing sources that don't exist about a civilization I made up.
Bullet Point List with EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!:
- EASY CHARACTER CREATION!!!!
- FLEXIBLE INVENTORY SYSTEM!!!!
- CHARACTERS DEFINED BY THEIR INVENTORY!!!
- LUCK!!!!
- MONSTER MATH TABLE OR SOMETHING LIKE IT!!!!
- LORE FOR PLAYERS TO DEFINE DUNGEONS AND ENEMIES AND RUMORS FOR THEM TO FORCE THE GM TO EXPAND THE MAP!!!!
This game is dedicated to Sun Gone, I hope you're freed from the yoke of shit game design that is 5e.
